FAQ

How do I care for your products?

The care of your garments changes according to their fabrics characteristics. You can see how to take care of your product on its care instruction on each product page. Refer to our page here.

Where are your products made?

The Batik Library works with Indonesian artisans across Indonesia to better provide the North American market a variety for hand-drawn batik, handwoven scarfs, and natural dye specialist batik artisans.

We make sure each in every product details you will see names of each city of it's origin.

Why Natural dye?

We want to take a step back and revert back to the traditional ways by using natural dyes. With proper handling, natural dye will not contribute to any of the water pollution already happening in rural areas in Indonesia.

The use of local source for natural dye baths creates a safe space for them to work with.

Are you using Organic cotton?

Unfortunately not! We are trying to make it into a thing! Our main idea is to use materials that are local to Indonesia. However, local organic cotton in Indonesia is a rare commodity! Most of the organic cotton that are in Indonesia are being imported from India/china/Thailand.

We are keeping it in the conscious side by using oeko tex certified cotton instead.

What is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified cotton fabric?

The fabric has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.
