The Batik Library works with Indonesian artisans across Indonesia to better provide the North American market a variety for hand-drawn batik, handwoven scarfs, and natural dye specialist batik artisans.
We make sure each in every product details you will see names of each city of it's origin.
We want to take a step back and revert back to the traditional ways by using natural dyes. With proper handling, natural dye will not contribute to any of the water pollution already happening in rural areas in Indonesia.
The use of local source for natural dye baths creates a safe space for them to work with.
Unfortunately not! We are trying to make it into a thing! Our main idea is to use materials that are local to Indonesia. However, local organic cotton in Indonesia is a rare commodity! Most of the organic cotton that are in Indonesia are being imported from India/china/Thailand.
We are keeping it in the conscious side by using oeko tex certified cotton instead.
The fabric has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.
Depends on the project yes we might be able to accommodate to you/your company needs! Since we're producing from Indonesia, please note that the entire process might take 2-3months.
